Auburn Public Theater Presents: 12 Week Fall Adult Improv Classes Learn collaboration, performance skills, and improvisation skills, then perform LIVE in Auburn Public Theater's Stage Right! Join us for a 6-week series to learn all about wheel throwing! In this class, students will cover the full process of creating on a potter’s wheel. Students will also learn about glazes. Class will include demonstrations, guidance, and fun. No prior experience is needed, and all levels of experience are welcome. Let’s get messy!

Join us for a “frightfully” fun Art After School that explores clay, pastels, and paint! Students will create fall and Halloween-themed crafts to get in the spirit of all things spooky. Join us for this six-week program if you’re interested in getting into the spooky spirit!

Let’s have some fun with a needle and thread! This class will be an introduction to hand sewing (a necessary skill) and basic sewing machine skills. Students will have the opportunity to let their creativity shine while designing and sewing embellished bookmarks, postcards, and journal covers. We will end the session with a personalized apron. In this eight-week series, students will learn the foundational skills for throwing pots on the wheel. They will learn centering, basic throwing techniques, trimming, glazing, and more to begin their journey with clay. While this class is geared toward beginners, students who have some introductory skills that they wish to expand on are welcome. Price includes 25 pounds of clay, access to the clay studio outside of class, and use of community tools and glazes.

In this 6-week series, students will learn the process of applying acrylic in layers to produce depth and richness that translates into representational art. First, they will focus on establishing value mapping in a painting using a monochromatic palette. Then they’ll learn how to use transparent and semi-transparent color glazes of acrylic, allowing the value that has been established underneath to show through.

Learn how to sculpt organic forms with wool during this 2-day, wet felting intensive with fiber artist Mallory Zondag. Students will learn a variety of wet felting techniques for creating flowers, leaves, stems, stamens, and how to connect all of these elements to form realistic floral forms. Dive into a rich, layered world of encaustic painting, an ancient painting technique invented by the Greeks, in this two-day weekend workshop focused on collage and mixed media techniques.
