Learn how to make an Easter time design in the traditional Ukrainian lyshtva method, led by artist Nataliia Shynkareno. This workshop offers a more detailed opportunity to learn about Ukrainian traditional embroidery. In addition to the previously introduced technique of diagonal lyshtva embroidery, the participants will learn to incorporate shtapivka (a running stitch) and a double cross into the design. All materials will be provided by the instructor.

Join the Cayuga Museum of History and Art and members of the Southern Cayuga Anne Frank Tree Project for a special screening of the documentary “Truth Tellers,” which explores the work of artist Robert Shetterly as he developed the vast exhibition and storytelling project “Americans Who Tell the Truth.” Admission to the screening will take place in the Cayuga Museum’s Carriage House Theater and will be free (although donations will be greatly appreciated).

In 1925 Auburn witnessed a total solar eclipse, which for many was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This rare astronomical phenomena attracted the attention of local scientist Theodore Case. Ted and members of his lab worked with the Colby Radio Research Lab while observing, documenting, and even filming the solar eclipse.
