Come celebrate our public re-opening with two brand new exhibits, and enjoy free admission for First Friday!
*New Exhibit 1) “Proof Positive: Wine, Beer, and Spirits of Cayuga County”, will explore the history of how wine, beer, cider and spirits are made in Cayuga County. Visitors to the exhibit will explore the history, the process, and the impact of the alcoholic beverage industry, while enjoying a free tasting from Lunkenheimer Craft Brewing Company!
*New Exhibit 2) “Auburn in Harriet Tubman’s Time” explores how Auburn changed in the 54 years during which Harriet Tubman called the city her home. Through historic photographs, visitors will learn about the growth of Auburn from 1859 to 1913, and get a glimpse of specific places tied to Harriet.
You can come visit us for our opening from 5-8 PM on Friday, March 4. Admission will be free during this time, and Lunkenheimer Craft Brewing Company will begin tastings around 5 PM. The Cayuga Museum is located at 203 Genesee St. in Auburn, NY. Parking is available in front of the Museum off Genesee St. or in the lot behind the Museum off of Washington St. If you have any questions about the exhibit or how to get to the Museum, please contact Geoff Starks at geoffrey@cayugamuseum.org or 315-253-8051.
“Proof Positive: Wine, Beer, and Spirits of Cayuga County” and “Auburn in Harriet Tubman’s Time” are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. The Cayuga Museum is funded in part by a Humanities NY SHARP Grant with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Federal American Rescue Plan Act.
After the exhibit officially opens, the Museum will be open to the public from 11 AM-4PM, Wednesday-Saturday (excluding holidays).
