Lunchtime Lecture: Seward’s Day Digital Field Trip (VIRTUAL)

The SHM Lunchtime Lecture Series kicks off the year with a virtual field trip. On the eve of Seward’s Day, the anniversary of William Seward’s Alaska purchase (and a legal holiday in the State of Alaska), we venture to the Ketchikan Museum’s Totem Heritage Center and Tongass Historical Museum. Located on the ancestral land of the Tlingit, these sites preserve their culture and artistic traditions, including many original totem poles which will be visited during this program.
