Job Title: Administrator

Reports to: Chair/s and Executive Committee of the Board of Directors.

Time Requirements: Approximately 20 hours/week; flexible schedule; evening and weekend hours required. Multiple events held throughout the year, attendance preferred.

Qualifications: Excellent writing and communication skills; highly organized; self-starter; not-for-profit experience; ability to work alone; grant writing experience; committed to the mission of Habitat for Humanity; project management; familiarity with Facebook and website management and other social media and knowledge of Cayuga County.

 

Tasks & Duties

Grant Writing: research grant possibilities; apply for grants from foundations, corporations and other sources; track results and prepare required reports for awarded grants; acknowledge receipt of grants.

Public Awareness: develop a community presence as the face of CC HFH; prepare press releases; design flyers, newsletters and other materials; maintain a presence on social media including Facebook and the CC HFH website; prepare an annual report and other marketing tools; and plan and carry out donor mailings.

Administrative: work with the Board chair to organize board meetings and prepare the agenda; gather mail and respond to phone calls, emails and FB messages and forward to appropriate recipients; send acknowledgements to all donors; maintain compliance with NYS HFH and HFHI; maintain official files including report to NYS Habitat for Humanity and HFHI; and track grants and assure that compliance is completed.

Fundraising: assist in preparation of annual appeal for donations; assist in development, preparation and execution of fundraising events.

Other duties as described and assigned by the Board of Directors.

 

Salary: $20,000.

 

Benefits: $1,000 contribution to a qualified retirement plan upon completion of 12 months of service in the first year; thereafter, contributions will be made quarterly.

 

Personal Leave: Two weeks based on a 20 hour week.

Holidays Observed: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas
