Learners will become familiar with all aspects of blood collection and will review the skills needed to perform venipunctures safely. \nTopics in this course include: \n\nMedical Terminology\nRelated anatomy and physiology\nBlood collection procedures\nProcedures for collection of other types of specimens within the scope of the phlebotomist\n\nAfter completing this program\, learners: \n* Have the opportunity to take the leading national/industry recognized certification exam(s) essential to entry level employment in this fast-growing field. \n* Are eligible to participate in an optional volunteer externship opportunity with a local company/agency/organization. \nCourse fee includes certification exam.
