This year and we are thrilled to bring back our Kids Fun Run for its 3rd year\, presented by The AUER FAMILY FOUNDATION! Last year’s kids run more than doubled in its numbers! The cost is $5 per child and will include some great swag! We will be doing a 100-meter dash BEFORE the main race\, right where the finish line is\, to get everyone excited and have a great crowd to cheer the kids on! The kid’s fun run will take place before the race at 8:45 AM .

SUMMARY:Professor Louie and the Crowmatix
DESCRIPTION:Grammy Nominated Professor Louie & The Crowmatix from Woodstock NY have been expanding the borders of the Americana\, Roots & Blues genres since the early 2000’s with Professor Louie’s stories\, keyboard playing\, singing and accordion. Their repertoire continual expands with Crowmatix songs from their 17 Albums of Originals\, Blues and Americana music— and the songs Louie learned and helped create directly with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame group “The Band” when he collaborated with them for over 15 years. Co-producing The Band’s last three CD’s including their comeback hits Atlantic City & Blind Willie Mctell along with many of their 90’s repertoire. Rick Danko gave Louie the moniker “Professor Louie”. \nTheir connection with audiences at shows helps create a family rapport. Professor Louie (keyboards-vocals-accordion) is joined onstage by band mates Miss Marie (vocals\, percussion and piano) Frank Campbell (bass\, vocals) guitar-slinging skills of Todd Mihan and drummer Eric Puente. Professor Louie & The Crowmatix create a show that is constantly evolving with songs consisting of elements of Rock n Roll\, Blues\, Folk & Gospel Music with a dose of Jam framed in solid songwriting. \nIn 2023 Professor Louie & The Crowmatix released a vinyl EP “Rockin’ Legacy Vol 1. In 2024 Professor Louie & Guy Davis recorded and performed the music for the hit Broadway play\, Purlie Victorius starring Leslie Odum Jr.

Robert Searing\, Curator of History at the Onondaga Historical Association\, examines Syracuse’s radical abolitionist history as the grand central depot on the Underground Railroad. The lecture contextualizes the activities of Rev. Jermain Loguen\, Rev. Samuel May\, Charles Sedgewick\, George and Rebecca Barnes\, and a host of other reformers. Searing will pay particular attention to the “Jerry Rescue” on October 1\, 1851\, one of the most significant acts of civil disobedience in the fight to end slavery in the United States. This event is free and open to the public.

DESCRIPTION:Learn the fundamentals of the 4-stroke cycle and basic operation of a 4-stroke engine. Experience a full tear down and rebuild of a Briggs and Stratton engine\, learn to make the appropriate adjustments and test run the engine upon completion. Student will also have the opportunity to create a Briggs and Stratton Technician account and earn manufacturer specific certifications that would be advantageous in obtaining a job in a small engine or outdoor power equipment repair shop.
