DESCRIPTION:Law Scholar Alfred E. Piombino will teach a seminar at Cayuga Community College for those interested in becoming a New York Notary Public. The exclusive\, in-person seminar on Tuesday\, March 4\, 2025 runs from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Parking is free and no car permit is required at the Auburn campus; public transit is available. \nThis practical seminar helps prepare participants to successfully pass the New York State written bar examination. It will also cover the recent release of the newly designated New York State “Electronic Notary” called eNotary and Remote Online Notarization (RON). New mandatory journal requirements for all New York Notaries will also be discussed\, in addition to other new rules and regulations. \n\nREGISTER NOW BY CLICKING HERE \n\nAttendance at this law seminar is a must for every applicant to properly prepare for all of the legal duties\, authority and responsibilities of holding a New York State Notary Public commission. The exam and appointment are under the auspices of the New York Secretary of State. The law examination is not offered on the workshop date\, but is held on a regular basis in North Syracuse and other locations throughout New York State. \nFour sample examinations are provided to every participant as a self-study aid for review after the seminar. All participants will receive two books written by the speaker – Notary Public Register and Recordkeeping Protocols and Notary Public Handbook: A Guide for New York (East Coast Publishing). \nPiombino is the leading New York and national notary law and practice expert. Starting in 1987\, he designed and initiated the Notary Public Training Programs at over 35 State University of New York (SUNY) and City of New York (CUNY) colleges throughout New York State\, including Cayuga Community College. He has personally prepared tens of thousands of people to pass the New York state proctored examination. DESCRIPTION:Alfred E. Piombino will lead a New York State Notary Public Workshop on Tuesday\, March 4\, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Cayuga Community College Main Campus in Auburn. Car parking is free and no permit is required.  Public transit is available at the college.\n\nThis acclaimed program provides a comprehensive review of the New York State Notary Public role\, duties and responsibilities and delivers effective official state law examination preparation. \n\n“Attendance at this seminar is a must for every prospective Notary Public to properly prepare for the serious legal authority\, duties and myriad responsibilities of holding this public officer appointment\,” said Alfred E. Piombino\, the course pioneer and faculty.\n\n“Simply taking and passing the 40-question examination\, implemented in 1950 by New York Secretary of State Thomas J. Curran\, is a good start\, but it’s not sufficient preparation by itself to fully understand and execute all the required duties\,” said Piombino.\n\n“First appointed as a New York Notary Public in 1981\, I easily passed the state law examination because I was a college business school student\, but I really didn’t fully understand the scope and depth of my duty which inspired my further legal research\,” he adds. \n\n “This frustration with a lack of accurate\, adequate resources sparked my sense of intellectual curiosity and was the catalyst of forty years of passion for dedicating myself to this niche\, legal scholarship\, researching\, writing and teaching – to not only help other legal practitioners better protect themselves from legal liability\, but also to protect the integrity of the civil and criminal court systems\,” Piombino said.\n\n“Notarial legal ineptitude\, intentional or unintentional\, definitively leads to the insidious denigration of all courts\, erodes public confidence and stymies good-faith efforts to effectively and fairly deliver justice to voters\, candidates\, litigants\, victims and defendants\,” emphasizes Piombino.\n\nThe New York Secretary of State administers the proctored\, written law examination through the Department of State on a regular basis throughout New York\, including North Syracuse\, but not at the training event. Official examination schedules will be distributed at the briefing. Four sample law examinations and answer keys are provided to every participant as a self-study aid for review after the briefing.\n\nPiombino was the lead investigator in a landmark\, notary investigation in 1988\, documenting for the first time widespread non-compliance with myriad legal requirements throughout New York State. The special investigation report was covered by The New York Times\, Wall Street Journal\, New York Law Journal and major news wire services throughout the US. The special investigation report is also cited by state and federal courts in judicial case decisions and law review articles to this day.\n\nPiombino is a highly acclaimed teacher\, court expert witness\, prolific book author\, past state court official and former State University of New York (SUNY) college business law faculty. He is the renowned scholar on New York Notary Law and Practice and the original curriculum developer and faculty of Notary Public educational programs at scores of public and private colleges throughout New York\, including Cayuga Community College.  \n\nUS Citizenship is not required for any applicant\, nor is a felony conviction an automatic disqualification from receiving an appointment by the New York Secretary of State.\n\nCivil Service Employees Association (CSEA) union member-state employees may submit a CSEA Tuition Benefit Voucher to pay for the full cost of the training course; plus\, the CSEA Certification & Licensure Examination Fee Reimbursement Benefit is also available to reimburse union member state employees for the NYS examination fee.\n\nTwo required textbooks (Notary Public Register and Recordkeeping Protocols and Notary Public Handbook: A Guide for New York) are included in the college tuition fee and will be distributed to all registrants on the day of the event.\n\nThe cost of the half-day program is $125.\n\nSpace is very limited for this Central New York\, special author appearance and pre-registration is required. Join us for a celebration of fashion in central New York\, featuring designers and boutiques who are revolutionizing the industry. \nThe fashion show will run from 5:30-7:30 PM\, followed by an after party from 8-10PM\, where designers\, models\, and attendees can mix\, mingle\, and dance the night away. Limited shopping of designer’s looks will be available at this time. Cash bar is available for the fashion show and after party. \nTickets are $50 for the full event\, $20 if you only wish to attend the after party.

SUMMARY:Ukrainian Embroidery Workshop - Kolodocky Embroidery Design
DESCRIPTION:This workshop offers the opportunity for confident beginners and experienced artists to explore Ukrainian traditional embroidery. Participants will be provided with the chance to learn the basics of kolodocky embroidery\, including stitches\, tips\, and techniques while working on flower design. The project will be framed in a wooden hoop\, providing a neat and simple way to display the artwork as an element of décor. All materials will be provided by the instructor. \nNote: Although for this project we use a larger count embroidery fabric (14 Aida)\, some people may benefit from using a magnifying glass/lamp. The participants are encouraged to bring their own device if needed. \nRegistration is required as capacity is limited. \n$40 general admission\, $35 Museum Members
