On August 10th in the Auburn City Council chambers, the Auburn Police Department (APD) executive team will provide a formal presentation to the leadership of Auburn’s social justice organizations. Led by Chief Shawn Butler, this gathering will seek to enhance understanding as to APD’s policies, protocols, operational procedures, and other issues that the leadership of social justice organizations need to know as we move forward to create a more inclusive, respectful community in partnership with law enforcement.

There will be a follow-up session to continue dialogue for social justice organizations to share, discuss, and possibly resolve concerns expressed by the community while articulating incidents of social injustices that may be considered as law enforcement-driven or induced.

To keep the community informed, this APD presentation will be recorded for later review, use or broadcast. This presentation will be available via livestream via the City’s website similar to the streaming of City Council meetings.

We will update this event listing with more details on the livestream as they become available.
